Meet the Cast & Crew!
In Goodbye to the Clown, Peggy (played by Rachel James) is a nine year old who tries to cope with her Father's death by befriending an Imaginary Clown (played by Brennan Jones) to distract her from the painful reality surrounding her. This clown, however, takes Peggy one step too far, making her act out in class, throwing erasers, and earning her a trip to the Principal's (Shanna Cawthorne) office! After this her Mother (Betsy Ryan) has had enough of the clown, and slowly but surely helps Peggy to realize that she must say Goodbye to her Clown and accept her Father's death. Through tears and laughter, these FCHS actors and suppporting cast members Melanie Reuter and Mark Zubaly take you with Peggy on her jouney of growing up.
Written by Ernest Kinoy in the 1980's, 'Goodbye' was Falls Church's show to present at the Virginia High School League's National District One-Act festival this year. Rachel James and Brennan Jones received ALL STAR Acting Awards for this year's VHSL performance.
